Environment

The environment is a big part of Sico's corporate philosophy.

Its R&D Department was one of the first to develop a wide range of environmentally compliant formulations:

• Isocyanate free
• HAPs free
• Waterborne
• High Solids

These innovations meet the requirements of the most demanding environmental legislations around the world, especially those in the United States.

Sico is also a member of the Environmental Choice Program (ECP), an international entity which encourages the supply of products and services that are more environmentally responsible and helps consumers buy "green". Canada's Environmental ChoiceM Program and its EcoLogoM are internationally renowned due to the Program's stringent certification process. Sico is proud to be a part of it thanks to its low VOC formulations.

In Sico's manufacturing facilities, environmental issues are no less important than the health and safety of its employees or the general community.

Its main environmental goals are :

• Reduce air pollution
• Improve the management of dangerous raw materials
• Develop an audit system for suppliers
• Lower energy consumption
• Develop a preventive maintenance system
• Reduce the risk of discharge to municipal sanitary sewers

These choices contributed to Sico earning ISO 14001 certification.
